If you have amalgam dental fillings and suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, the mercury contained in your dental fillings may be a factor that aggravates your illness. However, there are things you can do about it and a natural coriander based paste you can make that has shown to reduce levels of this heavy metal in the body. Thus helping to relieve some of the symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia, Multiple Sclerosis, Lupus, Parkinson’s and Diabetes are just a few conditions in which it has been documented that mercury dental fillings could play a part.

There are no safe levels of this heavy metal that we can have in our body without it having a detrimental effect on our health. The toxic effects on the body have been documented by over 1000 medical and Government Agency studies.

How Mercury Affects the Human Body:

Negative Vapour Pressure: Mercury has a negative vapour pressure, which means if you have dental fillings that contain this metal, it is constantly vaporising into your body. In addition, the battery effect that exists with the combination of mixed metals causes the heavy metal to filter into your gums, jaw and mucus. The metals are then carried through the blood stream, causing adverse affects in the body.

Penetrating the Blood-Brain Barrier: Mercury vapours are able to penetrate the blood-brain barrier. In pregnant women, the vapour can also cross the placenta, causing the metal to affect motor neurons, hormone glands and major organs in the foetus.

Affect on Cells: Mercury is cytotoxic (meaning it kills cells), neurotoxic, immunotoxic and induces immune system reactivity in many people. Heavy metals affect the body’s main building blocks at the cellular level. This disrupts the basic metabolic processes in our bodies.

Is Mercury playing a part in your Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Symptoms?
Perhaps one of the most disturbing facts is that exposure to mercury through amalgam dental fillings is present in almost the entire baby boom generation. This means that thousands of current adults are affected by this heavy metal.

Amalgam dental fillings are reported to be the highest mercury source for most people. The amount that filters into our bodies from these dental fillings exceeds Government Health Guidelines. Research shows that many illnesses (including Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) have been either cured or significantly improved after amalgam fillings have been removed.

What You Can Do:

Do you need to have all your Amalgam Dental Fillings Removed?
The short answer is that it may not be necessary, not if you deal with the root cause of the illness. I had all my amalgams removed, it helped a bit, but it did not clear the root of the illness.

In my experience of the successful outcome of over a thousand ME/CFS cases, the root cause of the illness is a neurological pattern of the brain becoming hard-wired into a hyper-vigilant survival response called Fight, Flight or Freeze. A past internal or external stressor, trauma, shock or a gradual build up of stress is normally the trigger.

When the nervous system of the body is in this hyper-vigilant state, the immune system gets suppressed and may not be able to deal with these heavy metals in an efficient way. So rather than have all your amalgams removed, a less dramatic answer is to get your immune system working properly again by learning how to interrupt and stop the brain from continually being in survival mode – which is exhausting you. That would be my recommendation, together with choosing non-toxic white composite fillings for all future dental repairs.

NB: If you do choose the drastic action of removing all your amalgam fillings, it is important to choose a dentist that specialises in this area and uses a dental dam to stop the metal re-entering your mouth and body.

Coriander Leaf Pesto Recipe: A simple step in combating Chronic Fatigue Syndrome symptoms aggravated by contact with mercury, is to remove the heavy metal that currently exists in your muscles, tissues and organs.

In 1998 Dr. Yoshiaki Omur discovered that the coriander plant has the ability to accelerate the process of removing heavy metals from a person’s body. In a study he performed, it seems that coriander leaf was able to cleanse the body of mercury in two to three weeks, without the help of any chelation agents.

His Coriander Leaf Pesto Recipe may be the key to not only cleansing your body of heavy metals, but also helping to relieve any symptoms of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome that it may cause.

Recipe for Coriander Leaf Pesto

1 Clove garlic
1/2 cup almonds, cashews, or other nuts
1 cup packed fresh coriander leaves
2 tablespoons lemon juice
6 tablespoons olive oil

Put the coriander and olive oil in a blender and process until the coriander is chopped. Add the rest of the ingredients and process to a lumpy paste. (You may need to add a touch of hot water and scrape the sides of the blender.)

You can change the consistency by altering the amount of olive oil and lemon juice, but keep the 3:1 ratio of oil to juice. (It freezes well, so you can make several batches at once).

Take approx. two teaspoons a day for two to three weeks, once or twice a year.
