The main Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Symptoms are extreme fatigue, brain fog, gastro-intestinal problems, headaches, frequent sore throats, sleep problems, abnormal temperature and general pain. The following Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Symptoms are also common amongst sufferers:
- Flu-Like Symptoms:
Pain in joints and muscles, sore throat and headaches. - Cognitive Problems:
Poor concentration, brain fog and poor short-term memory. Inability to understand or retrain what is read. - Sleep Disorders:
Disturbed sleep patterns leading to unrefreshing sleep. - Lymphatic Dysfunction:
Tender lymph nodes in neck, armpits and groin. Chills and night sweats. - Post-exertional Malaise (PEM):
Severe worsening of symptoms after exertion, onset can be delayed by 72 hours, common in CFS and can last for days or weeks. - Sensitivity and Allergies:
Sensitivity to light, noise, heat/cold, odours, chemicals and medications. Wheat and gluten Intolerance. Intolerance to alcohol. - Psychological Problems:
Irritability, anxiety, panic attacks and personality changes. Depression and mood swings often result from the debilitating effects of the condition. - Gatro-intestinal Problems:
Irritable bowel, candida, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, constipation and intestinal gas. - Other Symptoms:
Shortness of breath, dizziness and balance problems. Coldness in the hands and feet. Tingling and/or burning sensations in the face or extremities. Dryness of the mouth and eyes. Menstrual problems including PMS and endometriosis; chest pains; rashes; ringing in the ears (tinnitus), light-headedness; fainting; muscle twitching and seizures.
