Questions & answers

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most often, from people who are exhausted, sceptical, or simply trying to work out if this is right for them.

About the Condition

Is ME/CFS a real condition, or is it psychological?

ME/CFS is a real, recognised condition with physical dimensions. The nervous system, immune system and metabolic function are all involved. Emerging research, including AI-based analysis of biological data, is increasingly identifying markers specific to ME/CFS.

The historical dismissal of ME/CFS as “all in the mind” has caused significant harm to many people and is not supported by current evidence. Read more about what current research shows.

I’ve had ME/CFS for years. Is it too late for this approach?

Duration alone does not determine whether the coaching approach can be useful. People have engaged with the Energy Excellence Course after many years with the condition and reported meaningful improvements. Individual experiences vary, and no approach works for everyone.

If you have been living with ME/CFS for a long time and are wondering whether anything can shift, the free mini-course is a low-effort starting point. Watch it here.

Does this work for burnout, Long-COVID and fibromyalgia, not just ME/CFS?

Yes. The Energy Excellence Course supports people navigating ME/CFS, burnout, Long-COVID, fibromyalgia and post-viral fatigue. The nervous system patterns addressed by the course are common across all of these conditions, even though the conditions themselves differ in their origins.

I’m housebound. Can I still do this?

Yes. The course is entirely online and self-paced. You access it from wherever you are, at whatever pace works for you. The video lessons are kept short, designed to be manageable even on difficult days with limited energy and brain fog.

There is no requirement to travel, attend anything, or be at a particular point in your condition to start.

Do I need a formal diagnosis to take the course?

No. Many people who take the course are still in the process of seeking a diagnosis, or have not been able to get one despite years of symptoms. If you are navigating the experience associated with ME/CFS, burnout, Long-COVID or fibromyalgia, the course is designed to be relevant regardless of your formal diagnosis status.

Scepticism & Trust

I’ve tried a lot of things that didn’t work. Why would this be different?

That is a fair question, and one we hear often. Most approaches to ME/CFS focus on managing symptoms. This course addresses the nervous system patterns that many people find are driving the condition: the stress response that keeps the body locked in a state of high alert.

Understanding and interrupting that pattern is a different approach to symptom management alone. Whether it is right for you is something only you can judge. The free mini-course exists precisely for this: six short videos that give you a genuine sense of the approach before you commit to anything. Start there.

I’m sceptical of mind-body approaches. Will this tell me it’s all in my head?

No. ME/CFS is not all in your head, and this course does not suggest otherwise. The mind-body connection is real and physiological: it involves the nervous system, immune system and hormonal function working together.

Addressing the nervous system dimension of ME/CFS is not a psychological claim. It is a recognition of how these body systems interact. Amir navigated ME/CFS himself for over ten years. He is the last person who would suggest it is not real.

How do I know this isn’t just positive thinking?

It is not positive thinking. The course teaches specific, practical tools for working with the nervous system: techniques grounded in hypnotherapy, NLP, counselling skills and mindfulness, developed and refined over 20+ years of working with people navigating ME/CFS and burnout.

The approach does not ask you to think yourself well or deny your symptoms. It asks you to understand the patterns maintaining them, and to learn to interrupt those patterns in practical, daily ways.

The Approach

What is fatigue coaching, and how is it different from medical treatment?

Fatigue coaching is educational. It provides tools, frameworks and practical techniques for understanding and working with your nervous system and the patterns that drive chronic fatigue conditions.

It is not medical treatment. It does not diagnose conditions, prescribe medication, or replace your GP or medical team. This is an important distinction. Always consult a qualified medical professional for your health. The course works alongside medical care, not instead of it.

Will I be pushed to exercise or do things that make me worse?

No. The course is not a graded exercise programme. Post-exertional worsening, crashing after too much activity, is taken seriously throughout. The approach is about working gently with the nervous system, not pushing through symptoms or building activity levels as a primary strategy.

What does the course actually involve, day to day?

The Energy Excellence Course is made up of 9 modules and 70+ short video lessons, covering: understanding the fatigue cycle, calming the nervous system, working with difficult emotions, physical support (including hydration and nutrition), sleep, and self-coaching skills.

You watch the lessons at your own pace and apply the tools in your daily life as and when your energy allows. There are no live sessions, no fixed schedule, and no pressure to move at a particular speed. You have lifetime access.

See the full course outline.
Is the course suitable for children and young people?

The course material has been used with young people as well as adults. It is delivered in plain, accessible language, without jargon. Parents have worked through the course on behalf of children or young people who were too unwell to engage with it directly.

If you are considering this for a child or young person, we recommend reading through the course content yourself first to assess its suitability for their specific situation.

Results & Expectations

Does it work for everyone?

No approach works for everyone, and this one is no different. People with ME/CFS, burnout, fibromyalgia, Long-COVID and post-viral fatigue have all reported meaningful improvements after engaging with the course. But individual experiences vary, and we would never claim otherwise.

If you engage fully with the course and find it has not supported your wellbeing in any meaningful way after four months, a full refund is available. See the course page for details.

How long before I notice a difference?

This varies considerably from person to person, and we would not want to give a number that sets an expectation we cannot guarantee. Some people notice shifts relatively early. For others it takes longer, and progress can be non-linear.

The course is self-paced and you have lifetime access, so there is no clock running. You go at the pace that is right for you.

What if I try it and it doesn’t help me?

There is a four-month satisfaction commitment. If you engage with the course, apply the tools, and find it has not supported your wellbeing in any meaningful way, you can submit your completed worksheets and receive a full refund. Full details are on the course page.

Practical Questions

How much time does the course take each week?

There is no fixed weekly commitment. The 70+ video lessons are kept short, designed to be watched in small sessions suited to people with limited energy. You work through them at whatever pace your condition allows.

Some people move through modules quickly when they have better days. Others take months over a single module. Both are fine. You have lifetime access.

Do I need to be tech-savvy to access the course?

No. If you can watch a video online, you can access the course. It is hosted on a straightforward platform and works on phone, tablet, laptop or desktop. There is no complicated setup required.

Can I ask a question that isn’t covered here?

Yes. Use the contact page to send your question and we will do our best to answer it. If you are not sure whether the course is right for your situation, the free mini-course is the best starting point: it gives you a genuine sense of the approach before you commit to anything.
