About Fatigue Answers

The Fatigue & Burnout Coach
Who’s Been Where You Are

Not someone who read about ME/CFS in a textbook. Someone who lived with it for a decade — and found a way through.

Amir’s Story

Amir Norris, Fatigue and Burnout Coach

“I know what it’s like to be so tired you can’t think straight. And to have no one understand why.”

Amir Norris

Fatigue & Burnout Coach

My ME/CFS started after a bout of shingles. One day I was living a normal life. The next, I was struggling to walk to the kitchen. I couldn’t think clearly, couldn’t sleep properly, couldn’t do the simplest things without crashing afterwards.

Doctors told me my blood tests were normal. Friends told me to rest more. For years, I searched for answers, wading through conflicting advice, dead ends, and approaches that promised everything but changed nothing.

What eventually shifted things for me wasn’t a supplement or a new diagnosis. It was understanding that my nervous system had been stuck on high alert for far longer than I’d realised — constantly scanning for danger, diverting my body’s resources away from rest and repair.

Learning to recognise that pattern, and to begin changing my relationship with it, made a real difference. Not overnight. Not without effort. But it was lasting.

That process changed my relationship with my health completely. And it became the reason I founded Fatigue Answers and trained professionally as a coach — because I didn’t want anyone else to spend a decade in the dark the way I did.

Since 2002, I’ve worked with over 800 people navigating ME/CFS, burnout, Long-Covid, and fibromyalgia. I’m joined on the course by Aliya Burch, a remedial therapist with over 26 years of experience in restorative movement and nervous system support.

I know this territory — not from a textbook, but from the inside.

Amir’s Journey: From Patient to Pioneer

After a devastating 10-year battle with severe ME/CFS, Amir eventually mapped out his own recovery. That personal victory sparked a 20+ year mission to help others do the same.

2001

The Retreat Centre

Driven by the lack of holistic support he experienced while ill, Amir co-founded a dedicated retreat centre in Wales — one of the first in the UK to focus on the lifestyle and mindset dimensions of chronic fatigue. It provided a safe, restorative haven for people navigating severe fatigue conditions to begin their healing.

Coaching Workshops

As demand grew, Amir began running workshops and programmes across the UK — sharing practical strategies for rebuilding energy without the boom-and-bust relapse cycle, and partnering to refine the psychological and physiological frameworks that underpin the work today.

2008

Global Coaching

Recognising that fatigue doesn’t have borders, Amir transitioned to an international video coaching model. This allowed him to support people worldwide who were too unwell to travel — bringing the same frameworks directly into their homes.

Aliya Burch

Remedial Therapist & Course Coach, Energy Excellence Course

Aliya Burch has been a partner and course coach at Fatigue Answers since 2008. She is a remedial therapist with over 26 years of experience in restorative movement and nervous system support.

Her work focuses on teaching the body to shift out of fight-or-flight and into a state of genuine, restorative rest — the kind that actually allows your energy to rebuild rather than simply pausing exhaustion.

Through the Energy Excellence Course, Aliya guides students through body awareness practices and relaxation techniques designed to support nervous system regulation. Her approach is especially valuable for people who find that rest doesn’t leave them feeling rested.

She has taught restorative movement and relaxation classes and workshops across the UK for over two decades.
