Post-Viral Fatigue

Sarah’s Post-Viral Fatigue Journey

Sarah had been off work for over a year and had struggled with exhaustion for longer. Simple things, a dog walk, an hour with a friend, required careful rationing of her limited energy. She shares what changed after the Energy Excellence coaching programme.

She had been off work for over a year. Even spending an hour with a friend required resting before and after, leaving little energy for anything else. She had struggled for a while and was, in her own words, “really ready to find an answer.”

“The Energy Excellence Course for me was a real turning point, and things started to feel more manageable from there. It was a really good time to share with other people that had had the same or similar experiences and just to know that there were other people struggling with the same thing out there.”

Before the Course

I’d been off work for just over a year when I came on the course, but I think I’d had the symptoms, especially tiredness, for at least six months before that. So, I had struggled for a while and was really ready to find an answer.

“I found that I was really sad about not being able to do the things I wanted to do, not being able to do really simple things because of my illness.”

I couldn’t go for a walk with the dog or spend time with my friends, and if I even spent an hour with a friend in the day, it meant that I had to rest up before and after and couldn’t really do much else. I really missed out on a lot and I just found that really sad and frustrating as well.

The Energy Excellence Course

The Energy Excellence Course for me was a real turning point, and things started to feel more manageable from there. It was a really good time to share with other people that had had the same or similar experiences and just to know that there were other people struggling with the same thing out there.

“It was really clear that he really understood the illness. It was really reassuring to know that somebody did understand and did know why all the different things that were happening to us were happening.”

For me, the actual process that Amir teaches is the main highlight because it shows you how to get better, but also I really valued him explaining the different symptoms because from day one when he did that, it was really clear that he really understood the illness.

Other than that, I hadn’t heard of anybody that understood it at all, so that was really, really valuable to me.

Progress After the Course

When I was on the course, I noticed progress straight away and I was able to go for a walk on the beach.

“When I came back from the course, the first month or two were really rapid increase in what I could do and that gave me loads of confidence, and then it steadied off over the next year, but continued to improve.”

It had some ups and downs, but generally, it kept improving, and it’s continued that way since.

“This isn’t a magic bullet, you have to put the work in, but if you do, the tools genuinely help you manage your energy differently.”
